The Implementation Of Active Listening In Introduction To Language Assesment Class
This research aims to determine the implementation of active listening in the
Introduction to language assessment class because knowing this can make it easier for
lecturers or students to accept the material presented during the teaching and learning
process. Because by understanding student behavior, lecturers can better understand
the character of the students they teach. This research is focused on The
Implementation of Active Listening in Introduction to Language Assessment Class.
Qualitative data are gained from questionnaire, observations, and interview lecturer.
The qualitative data is analyzed by assembling the data, coding the data, comparing the
data with the theories, building interpretation, and reporting the outcomes. The 5
elements of active listening will be increasing, verbalizing emotion, asking,
summarizing, clarifying, and encouraging. The result of the research shows that the
implementation of active listening in an introduction to Language Assessment Class
helps students to learn. Thus, learning by using active listening can make the learning
process more interesting and motivating because both the lecturer and student can enjoy
the learning process, the lecturer knows the students behavior and can help them to get
knowledge and also apply that in our life. Active listening makes us better understand
what lecturers and students need to understand the quality of understanding of the
students they teach because then the teaching and learning process becomes more
enjoyable.
