The Use of Word Wall Application on Students Vocabulary Enrichment
The paper entitled, “The Use of Word Wall Application on Students’ Vocabulary
Enrichment” this research is to determine the effect of the Word Wall Application
media on student vocabulary’s enrichment. The method used in the research is a
quasi-experimental method with a quantitative approach. The population of this
research is the first grade of SMPN 1 SIMPENAN and took two classes as the
experimental class and control class with a total of 32 students in each class. The
researcher administered pre-test, treatment, and post-test during the process of the
research to get the data of students' vocabulary enrichment. After the data have
been collected, the researcher uses the t - test formula to calculate them to find the
t - test value. Both the control class and also experimental class show
improvement from pre-test to post test, but the gain obtained by the experimental
class is greater than the gain obtained by the control class. It can be seen from the
calculation of the data, the mean score between pre-test (53.91) and post-test of
the experiment class (87.97). While the average value in the control class is in the
pre-test (53.26) and post-test (79.35). Not only did the average value increase, the
results of the hypothesis which was to answer the research question in this study
showed the results, namely the sig value. < 0.05 which indicates that there is a
difference in the average value of students in vocabulary in class VII using Word
Wall, namely the value of sig. 0.001. Therefore, it can be concluded that this
media is very effective in teaching vocabulary. It means that the alternative
hypothesis (ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (ho) is rejected. Therefore, it
can be concluded that there is an effect of using Word Wall Application on
students' vocabulary enrichment.
