The Effect Of Teams Games Tournament On Students Reading Comprehension
Reading as one of language skills, has very important role. The students should comprehend the reading for certain purpose; however it needs a practical and suitable method. This study aims to know the students’ reading skills by using Teams Games Tournament in the process of teaching. The samples of this research are 27 students of second grade in Mts As-Syadziliyah, Cicurug. The data in this research are collected through pretest and posttest. The data is in the form of multiple choice. Quantitative method is used in analyzing the data. 25 from 27 students get better scores on posttest than pretest. Before the treatments, students lowest score was 45, but after the treatments students lowest score is 55. It means teams games tournament affect students’ reading comprehension. Moreover, through teams games tournament, the students were motivated to be active in the classroom activities. They were actively involved in the process of teaching and learning. This condition stimulated the students to work based on their own actual capability. Thus, the students got more experiences and improved their achievement.
