Shadowing Technique on Students Listening Comprehension : A Study is Conducted to the First Semester of English Language Education Study Program in Pakuan University.
Listening is considered as one of the important skills that should be accomplished by students. However, most of the students face the difficulties to comprehend the spoken language. Thus, this research is aimed to find out the effect of using Shadowing Technique on students’ listening comprehension. Therefore, the pre-experimental method with One-group Pre
test Post-test design is chosen as the research methodology in this research. It was conducted to the first semester students of English Language Education Study Program in Pakuan University which consists of twenty students. The instruments include pre test, four treatments, and post-test. Then, the t-test formula were applied on analyzing the data and to find out the effect of using Shadowing Technique on students’ listening comprehension. The result of analysis showed the value of t-calculation is 4,04 while the value of t-table is 2,09 at the significance level 0,05 based on the degree of freedom 19. It indicates the value of t-calculation is higher than the value of the t-table. Thus, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted which means that Shadowing Technique affects students listening comprehension.
