The Use o9f Pictorial Bingo Game on Young Learners Vocabulary Enrichment : A Study Conducted to the Third Grade Students of SDN Cipaku Perumda Kota Bogor.
Vocabulary is an essential thing for the students because it will help
them to comprehend a reading text or books, to choose the right diction in
their writing, and to have the courage to say something when they are
speaking in front of the class. The difficulty of teaching English vocabulary to
young learners are young learners get bored easily as they have a short
attention span. The aim of this research is to examine the effectiveness of
pictorial bingo game on young learners’ vocabulary enrichment. In
conducting this research the researcher used a quantitative approach. The
researcher applied pre-experimental method and one group pre-test and post-
test design. This research was conducted in 3rd grade students of SDN
Cipaku Perumda Kota Bogor. There were 20 students as the sample in this
research by using random sampling. The result shows that based on t-table,
degree of freedom 19 with significance level 0.05 is 2.09. Then, the total
value is 5.42 . It can be concluded that total value of t-test is higher than t-
table (5.42 > 2.09) , the t-test more higher than t-table . Afterwards, it is
indicated that the alternative hyphotesis (Ha) is accepted. Therefore, Pictorial
bingo game is considered as a technique in teaching vocabulary that makes
student enrich their vocabulary.
