Students Perceptions of Using Google Translate Application Toward Their English Vocabulary Knowledge

The writer chose Google translate because Google translate is a popular machine translation, so the paper entitled “Students’ Perception about Google translate application toward their English vocabulary Knowledge” has the purpose to know students' perceptions of using Google translate toward their English vocabulary knowledge. In this research the writer uses descriptive qualitative is applied in this research. This research is conducted at Insan Kamil Bogor to 2nd grade of senior high school in August 2022. The instruments that used in this research were Questionnaires, Interviews, and documentation. Based on the result of this research, it is found that students’ perception about Google Translate toward their English vocabulary knowledge, in the questionnaire, most of the students for about 75% of students agree that Google translate makes students easier to understand English vocabulary, and also the result from the interview the perception from students about Google translate application toward their English vocabulary knowledge have a better respond. The last for the documentation shows that for about 50% of students who use Google translate to have a better score than those who do not use Google Translate for their assignments, it means that the data from the documentation has good response from students about using Google translate for their English vocabulary knowledge. The conclusion of this research is that students have a good perception about the use of Google translate toward their English vocabulary knowledge.
