Students' Perception Toward The Implementation Of Sustained Silent Reading IN Reading Class
The paper entitled "Student's Perception toward the Implementation of Sustained
Silent Reading in Reading Class" was aimed to investigate students' perceptions
toward the implementation of Sustained Silent Reading in reading class. The
research used a qualitative approach and qualitative descriptive methods. This
research was conducted at the English Language Education Study Program of
Faculty of Teacher Training and Educational Sciences, Pakuan University the
participant of this research were 14 students of 2nd semester students in Inspectional
Reading class. This research was guided by using a research question "What are
students' perceptions toward the implementation of sustained silent reading in the
reading class?" Moreover, the instruments used in this research were questionnaires,
interviews, and forum group discussions. The findings of this research described
students' perceptions toward the implementation of Sustained Silent Reading in the
reading class which are: 1) SSR can train concentration and reading comprehension,
2) SSR can help students study reading in more depth and improve students' reading
habits, 3) SSR can help students improve their reading skills.
