ABSTRACT
The paper entitled “Comic as a Media in Telling Story” was purposed to
investigate the process of teaching-learning through storytelling uses comic as
media applied by English teacher in teaching English to Junior High School
students. The research employed descriptive qualitative research. This research
was conducted at SMPN 19 Bogor in grade eight. Moreover, the instruments used
in this study were documentation, guided observation, and interview. The finding
of this research described the steps of teaching-learning process in the class for
grade VIII (8). The teacher used comic as a media in teaching speaking through
storytelling technique. Documentation is taken from lesson plan used by the
teacher in teaching speaking through story telling. Interview and guided
observation used to investigate how the teaching speaking through story telling
was done. The result of the observation showed concluded that the teacher did all
the storytelling steps. It was also strengthened by the lesson plan and interview.
