Kahoot and Google Form as Assessment Tools on Reading Comprehension

ABSTRACT
Reading comprehension is essential for students. It helps students to understand
learning material in order to achieve their learning goals. To determine students
reading comprehension, an effective assessment tool is needed for students. This
research aims to find out the different usability between Kahoot and Google Form
as assessment tools to measure students’ reading comprehension. This research was
conducted at SMAN 1 Megamendung. A quasi-experimental with post-test only
design was employed for this research. The population of this research was the tenth
grade students of SMAN 1 Megamendung. This research involved two classes
which were divided into two groups; X-11 as the experimental group and X-10 as
the control group with the total of populations were 72. The instrument of this
research was reading test with the materials of descriptive text. In the instrument
validity test, as much as 30 questions were valid. These valid questions were used
as post-test. Data were collected through post-test. The data were analyzed using
SPSS 23. The calculation result of independent t-test showed that t-test value is
higher than t-table (3.514>1.944). It indicates that the alternative hypothesis (Ha)
is accepted. This shows that there is a different usability between Kahoot and
Google Form as assessment tools to measure students reading comprehension.
