the use of digital storytelling and non-digital storytelling as media on students' writing ability
This research aims to find out whether there is different effect of the use of digital
storytelling and traditional whiteboard on students’ writing ability. This research
used a quasi-experimental design with a quantitative approach.. The population of
this study was class VI students of SDN Cariu 1. The experimental class was VI B
and the control class was VI A. The experimental class was taught using digital
storytelling and the control class was taught using non-digital storytelling which
was traditional whiteboard. The results after being given treatment showed that the
experimental class score was higher than the control class. This research found that
there is a different effect of the use of digital storytelling and traditional whiteboard.
The mean of the experimental class is 39.9 and the control class is 18.5. Based on
the calculations that have been obtained in the t-test, the result is 2.64. Test results
can be shown to be 1.68 < 2.64 > 2.42. The results of the data analysis showed that
by using of t-test formula, that t calculating value was higher than tt (t-table). Thus,
the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted; which indicates that there is a
difference effect of the use of digital storytelling and traditional whiteboard on
students’ writing ability.
