Exploring Students' Learning Enjoyment In A Speaking Class Using Pictorial Media
The purpose of this study is to explore students’ learning enjoyment in a speaking class
using pictorial media. This study used qualitative research with narrative inquiry design
using questionnaire and interview as research instruments. The participants of this
research were the students of VIII-2 MTS Al-Ikhlas. The results of the research shown
that students have gained an enjoyment regarding the use of pictorial media in teaching
speaking and students enjoy participating in learning using pictorial media. It is shown
by students following the learning process well which makes students feel more
focused and understand more about learning, and fulfill eight indicators namely
Experience, Ability to concentrate, Attainable, Giving Immediate feedback, The
performance, Enjoyable experiences, Self-consciousness, and Do not think about the
time. Besides that, with the presence of encouragement to bring out students
contributions, and students being able to apply learning well so that it makes them very
happy in participating in learning and makes them forget about time, shows that the
use of pictorial media really helps students in participating in the learning process. Also
the use of Pictorial Media could help students to be able to express their contributions
in learning. This also supported by the achievements obtained by students and the
enjoyment gained during the learning process. The result is related to the application
of pictorial media to students' learning enjoyment in the learning process.
