Students' Perception Tow Ards The Implementation Of Esp In SMK-SMAK Bogor

English is a language which is used all around the world and also plays an essential
role as an international language. Some of the study programs in the schools provide
English for Specific Purposes (ESP) to fulfil the needs of English for work-related
requirement. This study aims to investigate students' perceptions towards the
implementation of ESP in SMK-SMAK Bogor. This study applied a qualitative method
with questionnaires and interviews as research instruments. There were 29 students as
research respondents taken from the XI-2 Chemical Analysis class at SMK-SMAK
Bogor. The result of the research indicates that most of students’ perceptions are
positive. From the questionnaire and interview answers, students perceived that ESP
learning activities are various and not monotonous. ESP learning activities help them
to measure their English Skills, especially speaking and writing. Though, there are
some aspects that should be considered in order to meet their needs such as more
listening and grammar activities.
