Teachers' Strategies in Teaching Speaking in "Access Course"
The research entitled “Teachers’ Strategies in Teaching Speaking in Access
Course” is aimed to describe the teaching strategies used by teacher in teaching
speaking in the Access Course. The descriptive method is applied. She conducted
the research to speaking class level 1, 2 and additional class as non-participants
observer. Purposive sampling is used as the technique and teachers of speaking
class are chosen as the participants. The result was found out from the observation,
questionnaire and interview. In the teaching and learning process, the material was
prepared well by the teachers and explained using various techniques and strategies.
There are effective and fun situation, role play, the use of technology and devices,
correction was done every day after the students performed their speech.
Furthermore, the way the teacher teaches, the strategies used, the material given
and the environment become a complete package that the teacher offers to develop
the students’ speaking ability.
