Self- Regulated Language Learning using Youtube on Students' Self- Efficacy
Videos can be used as a mean of communication to provide with English
language used. This study aims to find self-regulated language learning
using YouTube can enhance students’ self-efficacy. This research used a
qualitative approach with descriptive methods and also use reflective journal
and interview for collecting the data. This study focuses on students’
metacognitive aspects which are 1) planning, 2) monitoring and 3)
evaluating. The participants of this study were five students of English
Language Education Study Program at One Private University in West Java,
Indonesia. The data were obtained from two instrumentations; reflective
journal and interview. The results show the use of YouTube to carry out
independent learning has a good impact on students' self-efficacy.
Therefore, students' self-efficacy increases as their vocabulary,
pronunciation, and body language. The results of this study are expected to
provide a highlight to students, educators for developing English learning
skills by doing self-regulated learning through Videos.
