Teacher's Perpection Towards E-Learning In English Subject : A Narrative Inquiry.
E-learning is increasingly popular in education, including for English subjects. The
large number of e-learning users even after the pandemic shows that e-learning is still
useful today. This research aims to find out how the teacher's perception of the use of
e-learning in English subject. The narrative inquiry method was applied by conducting
the narrative frame and interview with one English teacher as the participant. The
questions were developed based on perception of cognitive aspect. To identify the
cognitive perception, thematic analysis was done by coding and categorizing
components that were also taken from the indicators of the cognitive aspect, which
include knowledge, experience, inference, and attribution. The findings showed that
the teacher had positive perceptions in cognitive aspects towards e-learning in English
subject. She has knowledge about e-learning and how to use it. Besides that, the teacher
also has good experience in using e-learning. Furthermore, she thinks that e-learning is
effective to be used in class. However, she also realizes that there are still obstacles
both from internal and external factors that will occur when using this e-learning.
Therefore, based on the teacher’s perception toward her knowledge and experience, the
use of e-learning categorized as an appropriate media in teaching English subject.
