Indonesian And american Vloggers' Way Of Presenting Inference.
In this particular era, another innovation of technology which has
become very popular recently is vlog and YouTube channel. Thus, due to
this phenomenon, teachers or learners also possibly can use vlog on
YouTube or create their own to get them involved in the environment of
the teaching learning process. Students also often struggle with reading
text to grasp even major ideas that are directly stated. This study highlights
the vlog’s potential for supporting learning process. By using this, teachers
or students will learn languages more interestingly. Qualitative approach is
applied in the research, because the writer intends to know how the
vloggers explain about inference. Descriptive method is applied in this
research. This research is based on two videos about inference. The reason
for considering these videos as the research site is because the writer wants
English teacher can use vlog for improving their strategy of teaching
reading that focus on identify main idea and supporting details. The
participants of this research are Pangkuh Ajisoko with his Youtube
channel ‘Pangkuh Ajisoko’ and Jay with his Youtube Channel ‘E2
TOEFL’. The reasons for choosing them as the participants are because
their videos have three characteristics of video learning. The result of this
research teachers can use vlog for improving their strategy of teaching
reading and also writing that focus on identify main idea and supporting
detail.
