Vocabulary Learning Strategies Applied By front Office Staff
Vocabulary is one of the most essential elements in language learning, especially for those who work in communication-based fields such as front office staff. The tittle of this reserach is vocabulary learning strategies applied by front office staff. This study aims to identify and analyze the vocabulary learning strategies used by front office staff in carrying out their professional duites. The reserach focused on five categories of strategies, namely: determination, social, memory, cognitive and metacognitive strateegis. The reserach in conducted at two learning centers, Ensiklomusika and Eye Level, involving front office staff as the participant. The method used is qualitative reserach with a descriptive method.There are 20 participants from both research sites. The data are collected through a questionnaire and interview. The questionaire findings indicate that participants use a variety of strategies in leraning English Vocabulary. The most frequently applied is determination strategy (88%), followed by social (78%), contignitive (75%), memory (63%), and metaconitive (63%). Most participants actively use contextual guessing and online translation or AI tolls (determination), participate indiscussions and conversations with guest or cowokers (social), assiciate new wrod with familiar words in own language (memory), practice new acquired words in a setence (cognitive) and manage the learning progres through reflection or scheduled self-study (metacoginitive).
