Using Vlog And Podcast On The Students' Vocabulary Enrichment

This study investigates the effect of using vlogs and podcasts on students' English vocabulary improvement, especially in the context of daily routines. Coducted smp negeri 2 Bogor, The research used a quantitative approach with a quasi learned through vlogs, while the control group used podcast. Each group received two treatment sessions, and after the treatment. The result showed that the average vobulary score in the experimental group increased from 14.94 (pretest) to 19.29 (post-test), while th control group improved from 14.48 to 16.77. Since the data werer not normali distributed, the wilcoxon signed- rank Test was applied the mann-whitney U test revealed a significant difference in post-test scores between the two groups (p = 0.000), indicating that the experimentalgroup outperformed the control group. These findingssuggest that vlogs, wich combine both visual and audio input, are more effective in helping students understand and retain new vocabulary than podcast, wich rely solely on audio. therefore, vlogs can be considered a powerfull and eangagging media for vocabulary learning ini junior high school.
