The Use Of Popular Song In Facilitatae Students Comprehension Of the Lnaguage Features In Recount Teks
Popular songs can be a learning medium for teaching recount text
effectively. Learning English has to be fun, one of the ways is by using
songs. Using songs in the classroom can stimulate a positive environment
for someone learning a language. This research aims to investigate whether
there is a significant effect of using songs and storyboards as learning media
and whether there are significant differences in the influence of the use of
songs and storyboards on students' comprehension of language features of
recount text. The researcher used a quasi-experimental design for this
research. The pre-test and post-test were given in the experimental and
control classes. The treatment in the experimental class used English songs
and storyboards in the control class as a learning medium for teaching
recount text. The results of the t-test showed a significant effect of using
songs and storyboards as learning media on student's comprehension on the
language features of recount text and there was no significant difference
between the experimental and control groups. Based on the result, it is
recommended to explore more songs that can used in teaching English,
especially recount text learning so the learning process can be more
innovative, interactive, and fun.
