Students perspective on note taking strategies in intensive listening course
the paper to explor student perspectiv on note taking strategis used in intensivelistening cours. not talking strategy to help learnes comprihand organize and retain spoken information during lesening activitase however students may preceive and apply not taking strategis diffently dependeng on their learning preferences, experiences and demands of the listening task, this research investigates both cognitive and effective perseptiv of students regarding the effectiveness and challanges of using note-taking staretiges in a academic listening setting the research employed a descriptivrqualitative design and involved 33 students enrolled in an intensive listening course at the univercity level the data were collected through questionnairs consisting of 25 itemes categorized into cognitiv and affectve aspecvts, and were supported by interviwes with selected participants, the result revaled that most students perceuved note-taking as a beneficial stratgyfor indifitiyng key word to understanding and organize main ideas, recaling past experiences to support comprehension as well as capturing and clarifying detailed information for better retention and rivew. in addition, students resported that note- taking helped them stay focused, increased their confidence, and enhanced their motivation during intensiv listening activitas, however, a few students still experienced challengs, such as keeping up with the speed of the audio or deciding which information was important enaough to bote. the study concludes that students generally hoold positufe perspective to ward the use of note-taking strategies in intensive listening courses, both cognitivily and affectively.theses findings highlight the importance of strategy instruction and syggest that educators should consider integrating note-taking training as part if listening comprehension development.
