The Use Of Think-Pair-Share Technique On Students" Reading Comprehension
The aim of this research is to find out the effectiveness of Think-Pair-Share
technique in teaching reading at the eight-grade of SMP Negeri 31 Depok. This
research was conducted with quantitative approach and quasi-experimental method.
The sample was 60 students which divided into 30 students from 8-F as experimental
group and 8-G as control group. The classes were selected through random
sampling. The researcher collecting the data by conducting pre-test, treatment, and
post-test. Mean of post-test for experimental group was 79.82 while the control
group’s was 74.15. The t-test value was 7.937 which exceeded the ttable value of
1.997. Thus, (Ho) was rejected, whereas (Ha) was accepted. Therefore, Think-PairShare had a significant effect on students’ reading comprehension.
